ABSA Cape Epic 2018. A Personal Gallery

Every Cape Epic is tough but this year seemed tougher. Sure, this opinion is debatable but it seemed like there was a lot more instances of illness in 2018, forcing several riders to abandon. While I'm sure the incessant dust at Arabella Wine Estate played a part, cases of stomach issues were also present. So get well soon to all those on the sick list.

Here of some random shots from a behind-the-scenes perspective. Yes, it started with a leafy prologue but for Raiza Goulão Henrique and Margot Moschetti, they kept their best for the final gallop into Val de Vie Estate.

It's the "day after" now and most of the overseas riders are homeward bound. Destination Schipol, Nice or Brasilia, safe travelling home to all members of the Brentjens Mountainbike Racing Team. It was a great week and look forward to connecting again soon. After I've cleaned the garden, though.
